Google is making it easier for brands to find the best keywords for content campaigns with an updated Planner tool that will roll out in the English language first before arriving for other languages later in 2019.
The refreshed Keyword Planner tool has been tweaked to ensure that the most relevant keyword ideas are surfaced when a seed keyword is entered. Google says that the update will enable users to hone in on specific keywords that can then be added to a Google Ads account with a few simple clicks.
“For example, when you provide the seed keyword ‘boots’, you might see keyword ideas such as ‘womens boots’, ‘work boots’ and ‘cowboy boots’. You’ll have the option to broaden your search by adding recommended words to your seed keyword,” the search giant noted.
The Keyword Planner will also welcome two other features in the coming days. The first is website filtering, a new addition that will filter keyword ideas based on an enterprise’s website, and the second is brand exclusions, which will forgo any keywords for branded terms.
Meanwhile, a new study released by Pew Research Center at the weekend, found that the term “Fortnite” was the keyword associated with the greatest number of views on YouTube following analysis during a one-week period at the start of the year.
Some of the other keywords that resulted in the largest view number increases include “ASMR” (2nd), “Rainbow” (4th), “Prank” (5th), “Moment” (9th), “Eating” (11th) and “Mystery” (18th). Pew Research looked at more than 43,000 channels with subscribers in excess of 250,000 for the study.
