Google is helping marketers to discover top trending product searches with the launch of a new website called ‘Shopping 100’.
On Friday, Google said that marketers will be able to view products that have recently seen a surge in interest across a variety of different categories, including ‘accessories & apparel’, ‘toys & games’, ‘sports & fitness’ and ‘personal care’.
Marketers can visit the website and click on the categories to see the top 10 most sought-after products at any given time.
Google said that it has highlighted a number of the top categories for holiday gifts, such as tech, toys and games and kitchen gear.
It added: “We see a lot of warm, furry boots in accessories and apparel, while high tech vacuums are big in home goods.”
The hub is likely to be useful for marketers in the run-up to Christmas Day next week as the information can be used to support last-minute content strategies.
Google stressed that the new lists are not a rundown of the most popular products overall.
Instead, the search giant will keep track of hot goods and products that are rising in popularity.
Google Shopping 100 has been launched to coincide with the busy holiday season, but it may continue to be a useful tool for marketers to discover product searches during the rest of the year.
Last week, Google also revealed some of the top trending global searches of 2019.
Two of the overall top five terms were ‘iPhone 11’ and ‘Copa America’.
Meanwhile, ‘Avengers: Endgame’ and ‘Joker’ were among the most popular movie searches.
