If your social media strategy could use a bit of a refresher, try these under-appreciated tips to help build your brand awareness, improve conversion rates and attract new customers.

  1. Add video content to your most successful channels

Instead of spreading yourself too thin over channels that aren’t giving you a decent ROI, focus your efforts on the one or two platforms where you see the most engagement, adding quality video content to increase social media conversion rates.

  1. Design social sharing buttons to maximise conversions

Social share buttons should be easy to find and easy to understand, and strategically placed to encourage in-the-moment sharing without getting in the way of your content.

  1. Add value on forums

Engage customers on one of the three main forum sites: Inbound, Quora and Reddit. Add value to your interactions by creating posts and replies that are detailed and thoughtful. This can go a long way in building your brand reputation among forum users. 

  1. Get comfortable with A/B testing

If you’re not A/B testing your social media posts, now is a great time to start. Analyse your social ads using this method to find out what’s working and what’s falling flat with your audience. 

  1. Determine how your audience is buying

Different social media platforms have different demographics, so you must tap into your audience’s buying preferences to convert clicks into sales. Make sure your social media strategy has been designed for the unique demographic of each channel.

These formats are successful because they’re customer-focused, straightforward and mimic keyword searches your potential customers are likely already using.

  1. Create a social media account you’d like to follow

Tag brands and people you’ve mentioned, curate great content from relevant sources and share anything you think your customers might find value in. Don’t just promote your brand without adding value for your audience.

  1. Use social media as a customer service platform

More and more consumers are turning to social media to help them resolve customer support issues. Engage users by replying to these kinds of requests quickly and directly.

Let’s be honest – social media is unavoidable nowadays. If you feel that your social strategy has stagnated, consider how you could incorporate these overlooked tactics to boost conversions and sales.
