Four quick tips to boost brands for festive sales

Prime holiday shopping season is right around the corner. If your brand could use a boost to cash in on festive sales, these quick tips could help refresh your SEO and PPC strategy just in time.

  1. Give content a seasonal spruce

Christmas shoppers are primed for parties and all things seasonal, so it pays to update your site to reflect the excitement of the holidays. Product descriptions and copy should sparkle with a festive tone, while creating blog posts focused on the season is a great way to improve your SEO and site traffic. Gift guides, new products, seasonal promotions and most wanted gift lists are all excellent ways to incorporate the spirit of the holidays.

  1. Maximise your PPC budget

Put those pay-per-click dollars to work by keeping your ad copy updated and free of errors to improve user experience. Ad extensions can help you garner better page rankings, while submitting offers to Google Shopping ads can help put your brand out in front of motivated shoppers.

  1. Consider code mark-ups

If you are a retail business, think about marking up your site code with structured data. This makes it possible to include product images, price, stock availability and customer ratings in search results. Most sites can implement this technique using Google’s Data Highlighter tool, but if you’re nervous about undertaking it yourself it’s worth consulting a professional web developer.

  1. Remember Christmases past

The busy holiday shopping season is not the time to reinvent the wheel. While it can give your business a boost to implement one or two new ideas or marketing strategies, don’t lose sight of what’s worked for your brand in the past. Focus your efforts on the outlets you use that have traditionally given you the best return on investment at this time of year. This will help you save time and money, and prevent you from exhausting your resources.

Adapt your digital content marketing strategy during the holiday season – you will optimise your website user experience and improve engagement tailored to this festive time of year.
