Black Friday and the start of the holiday shopping season is just six weeks away, so you might be on the lookout for quick fixes and strategy tweaks to ensure that your marketing drives reach, engagement and sales during this busy period.

Target social media

Social media is a hive of activity in late November and December as people look for and talk about gifts, food and parties for arguably a longer, sustained period than any other time of the year. This is perfect for content that lets you get into the conversation through the use of trending topics and keywords.

Consumers want festive blogs that inspire them to cook or address some sort of festive-related challenge and videos and image montages that help them purchase something for loved ones.

Christmas is a great time for harder sells, so don’t be shy in putting your products and services front and centre, and remember to use calls to action and links to your website.

Hold a contest

You may want to supplement your content marketing output with a photo or quote contest on social media to entertain customers and increase brand awareness and traffic during this competitive period.

These contests, which are suited to both local and large enterprises, and the subsequent submissions from users can then be used for a special blog post or article.

Always try to think about how brand activities can be spun and repurposed into more content to keep marketing flowing as the demand of publishing fresh posts every day for four or five weeks can take its toll.

Up your email game

Email marketing is another important tool during the holidays. Exclusive emails with discounts and offers can really move the needle and help to build brand loyalty and lasting relationships and encourage last-minute shoppers and businesses to buy something in-store or online.

Update your website

Customers love getting into the festive spirit, and you can feed into these emotions by overhauling the footers and headers on your website with holiday-related text and graphic elements.

Just a few small changes can help to strengthen connections with visitors during this time, which can be hugely beneficial for your brand.
