An innovative new fashion search engine finally launched in the UK yesterday. Shoppers use the site by searching for an item using filters than include brand, price and delivery time. Once they’ve selected their preferred items, they go straight to the retail site to complete payment.
The German based site has proved to be incredibly popular in Germany and the Netherlands, where it features more than three million products from over 500 shops, and receives two million search queries a month and 700,000 unique visitors. Shops and brands have to register to show their products on the site; so far big names like Marks and Spencer, H & M and Topshop have already signed up.
The site does not only allow shoppers to search and compare clothing items, but also gives brands, companies and individuals the chance to create and upload fashion blogs for the site and for its social media sites.
Fashiola’s managing director, Peter Langenkamp, is confident that the UK will embrace the new fashion search engine in the same way that Germany has done: “We’re excited to have arrived to the UK and into such a strong online fashion market” he says. “We believe that there is a great demand here for our service and commitment to providing a fast, easy and unique shopping experience.”
Mr Langenkamp went on to say: “There are thousands of online fashion shops, but how are shoppers able to search for a particular piece of clothing quickly online? We have solved this problem by giving a complete overview of all brands, prices, styles and availability of the goods in the correct size and for the best price in the market.”
