Brands targeting audiences on Facebook need to identify their objectives in order to publish content that is relevant to them, according to Rick Enrico, SEO and founder of SlideGenius. With over 1.55 million users as of November 2015, Facebook is currently one of the largest social media networking websites.
According to statistics recently published by Zephoria, over 290,000 statuses are updated, over 500 comments are posted and over 135,000 photos are uploaded on Facebook every minute. Marketing agency Freely noted that 75% of content posted by brands on Facebook is photos, followed by links at 10% and statuses at 5%.
“If you’re targeting B2C audiences, Facebook is the best place to go to find qualified leads that will eventually convert into sales,” said Enrico.
However, he added that brands need to identify their objectives in order to publish relevant material for audiences and that posting good content is not enough to promote a brand and encourage others to share a brand’s content online.
Enrico posted an infographic from SlideGenius, which compiled a list of figures and advice from companies and experts and outlined the ways in which brands can successfully deliver the right message to their audience.
According to the infographic, 61% of consumers purchase from brands that provide custom content, which is why brands need to take the time to start boosting their content. In order to deliver to the right audience, brands need to be “visually driven, succinct, visible and shareable.”
“Consistently posting relevant content generates interest,” the chart stated. “This increases audience engagement with your brand.”
Brands were also advised to be mobile-friendly, as Facebook now has 1.39 billion mobile users as of 2015. Those who use the social networking website’s mobile app have easier access to updates, so companies should “optimize for mobile and run against competition.”
The infographic also advised users to “be likeable” as Facebook leads the way for targeted market content.
“Use it to gain the support of your dedicated and loyal fans!” the chart advised.
